Sean looked out over the lake, squinting against the sunlight. He turned to me, his expression sobering as his eyes flicked over my face in a silent study.
“Come on Amy, I saved you once, I’ll save you again.”
I met his stare unflinchingly. “I don’t need saving.”
A wicked grin formed slowly. “Don’t you?”
After a rebellious summer night that almost claimed her life, Amy Henderson – the Onslow publican’s only daughter – is sent away to suffer a fate far worse than any other punishment:
Boarding School.
Three years on, a now nineteen-year-old Amy returns to Onslow for the summer. What once was a cauldron of activity with live bands, hot meals and cold beers, the Onslow Hotel now lies dark, deserted and depressing. All fond childhood memories of loitering on the hotel stairs and eavesdropping on customers’ colourful conversations are in the distant past.
How had her dad let it come to this?
With the new threat of putting the Onslow up for sale, Amy reluctantly turns to a local tradesman for help: Sean Murphy, the very same Onslow boy who saved her life all those years ago. With his help and that of some old friends, the task is clear: spend the summer building the hotel back up to its former glory or lose it for good.
In an endless summer, Amy soon realises that sometimes in order to save your future, you have to face your past, even if it’s in the form of a smug, gorgeous Onslow boy.

My Thoughts:
And just like Sean, without even knowing the reasons why, he just did. Without a word or a worry, he saved me.
An Endless Summer opens with young Amy Henderson trying to help out a friend. But it goes horribly wrong and she ends up being rescued by none other than Sean Murphy. Humiliated and embarrassed are just the tip of the iceberg for Amy. Her Mum and Dad are not impressed and send her off to boarding school. Fast forward three years and Amy has finished school and is procrastinating about college when she decides to return to Onslow for the summer. What she finds is not the popular pub of old, but a rundown and depressing site with barely a customer to be seen. Then her Mum and Dad drop the bombshell that they are putting The Onslow up for sale. Amy is devastated!! The Onslow is her home!! And so she vows to bring The Onslow back to it's former glory. Enter Sean Murphy, tradesman extraordinaire. With his help and the help of some old friends Amy sets out to show her parents exactly how good things can be at The Onslow.
When you absolutely love a book by an author and you are eagerly awaiting the sequel you can only hope that the author is able to capture the same magic that had you falling in love with the previous book. And then you can only dream that they manage to surpass it in it's awesomeness. Well holy fracking wow!!! C.J. Duggan you are an absolute genius!! This book was simply outstanding!!
I was so in love with Toby after reading The Boys of Summer that I thought there was no way Sean Murphy could even come close to capturing my heart. Toby was gorgeous and sweet. Sean just wouldn't do it for me right!! Well hot damn!!! Has the boy got it in spades or what!!! Sean is a walking, talking ball of sex appeal. It just oozes out of him. From his cocky grin to his sexy swagger. He's got it all happening on the outside, but it was what was inside that I loved. He is sweet and caring and protective. He's loyal and trusting. And he did it. He managed to get right in there and claim all the pieces of my heart!!
I touched my lips in deep thought, smiling. I had kissed Sean Murphy, or, more to the point, he had kissed me.
He. Kissed. Me. Holy crap!!
In book one Amy was snarky and could have been my least favourite character. But in this book I loved her!! Queen of the sarcastic and witty comeback. Full of determination and fight. The girls got spunk!! She keeps things interesting and that's one of the things that Sean loves about her. Sean and Amy didn't fall instantly in love. In fact Sean infuriates Amy. But it was so much fun taking the journey with her as her feelings for Sean changed.
An Endless Summer made me laugh. Good, big, hearty belly laughs. And when I wasn't laughing, I had a huge gigantic smile on my face. These two were just brilliant together!!
"You're so beautiful," I whispered.
He smirked. "And you're a hot mess."
"Thank you." I smiled, leaning my head against the wall of his broad chest.
Sean laughed. "It wasn't a compliment."
An Endless Summer was the perfect antidote to the cold and wet sydney winter. It's almost impossible to mention all the awesome that this book contains. It's brimming with it. From start to finish. C.J. Duggan writes love, friendships, heat, sex and humour to absolute perfection. C.J's writing gives me the warm and fuzzies. An absolutely fabulous read!!
The words whispered onto my flesh and my eyes widened as his lips covered my finger, his teeth gently nipping at my flesh and, with the slightest of pressure, he sucked the splinter shard out of my finger.
