...until she met Jackson Parks.
Is it possible that a chance meeting with a stranger can make you question EVERYTHING you thought you wanted? Caroline tries to carry on with her life as if nothing has changed...but the truth is, nothing can ever be the same.
Chance Encounters is an emotional love story about trusting and following your heart, even when it's leading you down a difficult path.
Sometimes other hearts have to break in order to keep yours intact.
My thoughts:
This is the first book that I have read by J. Sterling and boy oh boy!! I swayed through so many different emotions. Firstly let me say that I would probably class this book as new adult instead of young adult purely because of the age of the characters, not so much the content of the story. The characters are just in an older age bracket being that they are out of college. But the content is really nothing more than what you would read in any other YA book.
Caroline Weber is on a plane heading home to her incredibly good and loving boyfriend Clay after attending a funeral. The seat next to her is taken by Jackson Parks. The attraction is instant and intense and incredible and deep. And it's Mutual and like nothing either of them have ever experienced before. They spend the trip completely wrapped up in each other. But how do you go back to living the life that you had when nothing will ever be the same again?
Caroline was the character that had my emotions in a tail spin the most. And that's because I have such strong feelings on what I define as cheating. For me there is not just physical cheating but there is emotional cheating as well. But then her intentions are so good. She is really trying to do the right thing by everyone else and take into account everyone else's feelings besides her own and so one minute I was so cranky with her but then the next I wanted to hug her like you would a best friend that was struggling with the decisions and emotions that she was. And she loves Clay and she doesn't want to see him hurt. And the heart wants what the heart wants. We really don't have any control over that!!
Caroline's boyfriend Clay is sweet and loving and I hated that Caroline couldn't love him the way that he deserved to be loved. And the lengths that he would go to to try and make things right between them because he wasn't blind and he knew that something was different between them.
And then we have Jackson. He was the character that I loved the most. To me he just seemed to have so much intensity about him. His love was intense, his friendships were intense, his reactions were intense. And I find it really hard not to love a man who is so passionate!!
Chance Encounters is an incredibly good read. The author sure knows how to write a book that's full of emotion and I'm certain that I will be picking up and reading more of her work in the very near future!!
5 Intense, Emotional Stars!!
