When Val Jensen gets dumped for her decision to stay a virgin until marriage, the nasty breakup goes viral on YouTube, making her the latest internet sensation.
After days of ridicule from her peers, Val starts a school-wide campaign to rally support for her cause. She meant to make a statement, but she never dreamed the entire nation would get caught up in the controversy.
As if becoming nationally recognized as “Virgin Val” isn’t enough, Val’s already hectic life starts to spin wildly out of control when bad boy Kyle Hamilton, lead singer for the hit rock band Tralse, decides to take her abstinence as a personal challenge.
How can a girl stay true to herself when this year’s Sexiest Man Alive is doing everything in his power to win her over?
For those who might wonder about content based on the title -
From Kelly: The book has a great overall message and promotes good strong moral values. For a book all about sex, there's not anything even close to a sex scene in it, but because of the nature of the topic there is a lot of innuendo/sexual humor and some name calling.

Author Kelly Oram
Kelly Oram wrote her first novel at age fifteen–a fan fiction about her favorite music group, The Backstreet Boys, for which family and friends still tease her. She's obsessed with reading, talks way too much, and loves to eat frosting by the spoonful. She lives outside of Phoenix, Arizona with her husband and four children.
My Thoughts:
V is for Virgin is the first book that I've read by Kelly Oram and it definitely won't be the last!! This was one of those books that for the most part managed to keep the grin on my face all the way throughout!!
Valerie Jensen gets dumped by her boyfriend for her decision to abstain from sex before she is married. Valerie is heartbroken. Even more so when her ex makes a very public display of the fact that he has moved on. Valerie decides to set the record straight on their breakup by declaring her virginity in the school cafeteria. What Valerie didn't expect was that someone would record her declaration and upload it to Youtube. Or that the video would go viral and she would be the talk of the nation.
Being labelled as Virgin Val, she thinks that she will never again be able to get a boyfriend. But she is so wrong!!! She has not one, but two incredibly hot and gorgeous guys interested in her!! Isaac, is one of the most popular guys in school. He rides a motorbike, he is sweet, kind, thoughtful and supportive... And Kyle is a rock star!! He admits to enjoying the pleasures of the rock star lifestyle. Girls throw themselves at him and who is he to disappoint and say no. He is cocky and self assured. And he is certainly intrigued by Val and makes no secret of the fact that he could help her fix her virginity issue.
I loved both Isaac and Kyle and at first it was hard for me to pick between the two because they were like my perfect man all rolled into two!!! But there was just something about Kyle!! I loved the banter and tension between him and Val. But to be honest, I loved the relationships between all the characters. The friendships were something that really stood out for me. But most of all I loved Val. She is so strong and determined. And she doesn't back down from what she believes in.
I can't tell you how much I loved this book!!! From the writing to the storyline and the wonderful characters!! It was such a cute, fun read but it also contained a much deeper message. Our bodies are ours. Our virginity is ours and it's our decision to decide who gets that gift. Don't give it away lightly because it's not something that you can get back!!!
