My Thoughts:

Broken is the story of college age Gabby, whose life has been anything but easy. Dealing with the devastating death of her mother and the ultimate betrayal of the boy she loves she decides that she will throw herself into her studies and erects some pretty solid walls around her heart after deciding that she can handle no more heartache. But while attending a friends wedding she locks eyes with the devastatingly handsome Bradley Banks. The spark and attraction is instant and mutual. But Bradley doesn't do commitment and Gabby is not looking to open her heart to pain.

Told in past and present tense, it was great to get such a huge look into the back story of what made Gabby so weary of love. So determined to not have to experience that level of heartbreak again. Through those insights I was completely able to understand why Gabby felt the way that she did.

I loved the relationship between Gabby and her sister. Not having a sister myself, I find that I'm always drawn to those sibling relationships. The support and comfort that they offered to each other was heart warming.

And then we have Bradley Banks. I loved him!!! 29 years old. Amazingly successful in business. Extremely confident and slightly cocky. He oozes sex appeal. He is a man who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to go after it. And he has decided that he wants Gabby. But will he be that man to break his way into Gabby's heart?

Broken was quite a quick read. Well written with an engaging storyline and characters. Although I admit to there being times when I was frustrated with Gabby. She is a girl who cries easily but there were a few times throughout the book where things from her past that she has buried deep were eluded to and already my stomach is churning wondering what secrets she has buried so deep that even she can't remember them.

I will definitely be reading the next book in the series Mending when it is released in December. Looking forward to seeing what happens next!!
