My Thoughts:
You know how there are those authors whose books sound so awesome to you that you buy them and have them on your TBR list, you follow the authors comings and goings but you haven't as yet managed to read any of their books? Well unfortunately Melissa Pearl was one of those authors for me. So when I heard about the blog tour for Betwixt I was determined to participate because I knew I had to make the time to read it. And I am more than happy that I did!!!

Nicole Tepper is a part of that crowd. You know the one that parties hard and looks down on anybody that they deem to be below them. And Dale Finnigan is definitely not considered worthy of their time or friendship. One night after being out with her boyfriend, they argue and she is left on the side of the road and has no alternative but to walk home. It's on this walk home that she is the victim of a hit and run. But the next morning she wakes up in her bed with no recollection of what happened the night before. Nicole soon learns that she is actually hovering between life and death and her body is still lying somewhere out in the middle of nowhere and she is actually in spirit form and nobody can see or hear her. Nobody but Dale Finnigan!! So Nicole and Dale set out to piece together what happened and to find her body before it's too late.

I admit that it took me a little while to warm to Nicole. The way that she treated Dale just didn't sit right with me, but once the book progressed and we learnt more about the real Nicole and the impact that events have had on her life and why she is the way she is and mixes with the crowd that she does, then I couldn't help but like her. And how freaky would it be to be able to get an insight into what your friends and family actually think of you because you can hear them and they can't see you!! Sometimes you might not like the things you hear!!

Favourite character of the book is Dale. Hands down!! He was wonderful!! Good and sweet and funny. And loyal to a fault. Definitely a person that any of us would feel honoured to call a friend. 

What came through most for me in this story was how attractive the goodness of a persons heart is. And that there is always the chance to fix the mistakes that we have made and become a better person. That we can all earn a second chance.

Melissa Pearl's writing is quite simply fantastic!!! This one is a must read!!!
