EMBRACE BLOG TOUR - REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: Definitely, Maybe in Love by Ophelia London

Spring Honeycutt wants two things: to ace her sustainable living thesis and to save the environment. Both seem hopelessly unobtainable until her college professor suggests that with a new angle, her paper could be published. Spring swears she’ll do whatever it takes to ensure that happens.
“Whatever it takes,” however, means forming a partnership with the very hot, very privileged, very conceited Henry Knightly.
Henry is Spring's only hope at publication, but he's also the über-rich son of a land developer and cash-strapped Spring’s polar opposite. Too bad she can't help being attracted to the way he pushes her buttons, both politically and physically. As they work on her thesis, Spring finds there's more to Henry than his old money and argyle sweaters…but can she drop the loud-and-proud act long enough to let him in? Suddenly, choosing between what she wants and what she needs puts Spring at odds with everything she believes in.
Definitely, Maybe in Love is a modern take on Pride and Prejudice that proves true love is worth risking a little pride.

My Thoughts:

"I couldn't stop myself from replaying his words, his harsh, ugly words. The more they ran through my head, the angrier and more irrational I grew. Phony? Snakes? How dare he? He's the one who drove a damn Viper."

Spring Honeycutt is a woman with a very clear set of beliefs. She is an environmentalist, a vegetarian, she doesn't listen to male singers and she's not looking for love. In fact she tends to get bored with guys quite easily. But when her professor tells her that her latest class project is lacking something, she very reluctantly agrees to accept the help of her neighbour Henry Knightly. Spring and Henry don't have the best of starts to their relationship, but can two people who appear to be so very different find some common ground?

Spring and Henry were character's that I had a hard time connecting with when I first started reading this. The story started off a little bit slow. Spring was very set in her opinions and views. Sometimes she was completely rigid in those beliefs. Henry was just hard to read. I couldn't really get a feel for his personality.  But as the story unravelled, I found myself more and more interested in their story and everything they were experiencing. After their initial differences Spring and Henry's relationship developed into a wonderful friendship. Their attraction to each other progressed at such a wonderful pace. But they have anything but a smooth ride. There are difference's of opinions, secrets, untruths and their own stubbornness to overcome. At times they also completely frustrated me. They were both so good at talking. Their verbal sparring was one of the things that I loved the most throughout the book. Their intelligence and wit were amazing. They fed off each other perfectly. But when it came to the big things, the things that involved their heart, they both closed up and the talking stopped.

I adored some of the supporting characters and they each added a little something to the story. Their were also some characters that I absolutely loathed. One in particular was horrible and low beyond words. And I really wished he would have gotten so much more in the way of punishment for his actions.

Subject: My mouth
Location: You
Notes: Don't move. My mouth is on your fingers, eyelids, your face. My mouth, your neck. Your mouth. My hands, your back, skin. Your mouth. My mouth, your tongue. Your mouth, my mouth.  Your stomach, my mouth, my hands. Under your hair. Under your shirt. My mouth on you.

Yes, Mr Knightly definitely has a way with words!!

After my initial lack of connection towards the characters, Definitely, Maybe in Love turned out to be a wonderful read!!! I swooned at the beautiful man that is Henry on many occasions. He could be so sweet and I loved the impact he made on Spring and by the end of the book, his love had turned Spring into a much more laid back and easygoing girl. Ophelia London's style of writing was really easy to read. I will definitely be checking out more from this author.
