AUTHOR BIO
Tiffany Daune doesn't get why people want to grow up or why anyone would ever stop eating candy. Her purse is filled with books, lip gloss and a few pieces of Lego bricks. She writes best with a dish of chocolate chips on hand and finds licorice makes a better straw than plastic.

She lives on an island and believes mermaids may be raiding her candy stash, thoughshe hasn't caught them, yet.

Surface is her first novel and pairs well with gummy sharks.

My Thoughts:

Theia clutched her head. She pinched her eyes shut. Death was supposed to be peaceful-not a nightmare.

Surface is a book that jumps straight into the action. From almost the first page you are thrust right into the story along with the characters. And it pretty much continues that way throughout the whole book.

When we first meet Theia, she is oblivious to what she is and is about to be thrust into a world completely removed from anything that she has known to date. I loved having a front row seat to her struggles as she tried to understand exactly what she was experiencing. Tiffany Daune did an awesome job in capturing all of Theia's emotions.

The story takes us on a journey with all the characters. Not told from any one particular point of view, Surface instead lets us become acquainted with each character culminating in the point when they all come together and we learn exactly how they all fit into each others lives. But the characters I loved the most were Theia and Luc.

He was beautiful. Loose waves of golden hair fell around his face in an ethereal halo, and his blue eyes sparkled like sapphires.

There is quite a bit of romance in this book which I loved. Theia and Luc have an intensity to them and their feelings for each other developed at a cracking speed. But Luc is seriously so sweet and loving and protective it's no wonder that Theia fell hard and fast.

Luc was so perfect, so beautiful.

This was a really quick read. There was room for the story to be expanded at different stages, but that was more my desire to get to know the characters on a deeper level and understand the workings of the worlds created by the author.

I'm not sure if Surface will be a part of a series of books, but I really hope that there is at least a sequel. I would love to know what the future holds for the characters. And also have the opportunity to read more from Tiffany Daune.
