Synopsis:
Blaire Hayes enjoys a quiet life, spending her days as a CNA at the local nursing home and nights studying for exams. She prefers things to be as uncomplicated as possible — but when her friends drag her to a party and she bumps into her high school crush, the path of Blaire’s life veers in an entirely different direction than what she had planned for herself.
Jason Bryant created a nice life away from his hometown, putting distance between himself and the suffocating sadness of his father’s death. But when he finds out his grandfather’s health is deteriorating, he decides he must return home. Partying was not on his agenda while in town, but it’s how he bumps into Blaire Hayes—the girl he’d always thought of in high school as an unobtainable pass.
Together the two learn there are moments in life that hold within them all the power to break you…

Name Your Favorite Rainy Day Contemporary
Read and Tell Why…
The Book of Luke by Jenny O’connell. Hands
down.
If I’m going to be stuck sitting inside all
day while it rains cats and dogs outside, then I at least have to read
something funny, witty, and light. That book has it all. The Guy Guide Tips at
the beginning of every chapter had me rolling!
I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard while reading in my entire life!
Here’s a good one taken from the top of
chapter six:
“Do not blame my tone of voice, my lack of
patience, or my bad mood on PMS. It’s not my period that’s my problem. More
likely, it’s you.”
There are SO many more funny ones
throughout the book! Seriously, The Guy Guide Tips were a huge plus to the
story and I’m so glad the author decided to add them in the way that she did.
If you haven’t read The Book of Luke, you should definitely check it out!
Sounds like a very good book! There is nothing like having a good friend to help you through tough times..
